Important steps to find accommodation
There are a few select steps to follow in order to find accommodation in Dresden. Please note, that you will have to organize your living arrangement before arriving in Germany. We recommend starting your search for accommodation 2-4 months before your arrival. This will give you enough time to communicate with your future landlord. We will do our very best to assist you with this process.

- Find apartments that are fitting your expectations. You can find a short overview of relevant information about accommodation options in Germany here.
- Please contact the options you like. We recommend contacting multiple options that fit your requirements. There is a possibility that some of your choices won’t be available, the more landlords you contact the better your chances of finding fitting accommodation will be. If you need help contacting landlords in German, don’t hesitate to ask us for help
- Wait for a response from the landlords, this might take a few days
- In case you get a positive response, gather the necessary documents as told by the landlord
- Sign the contract.
- Carry out the city registration. We can assist you with it. Please find information about necessery documents and process description here
- Apply for electricity and internet, if necessery. Please contact us to find out more about the process
- Get furniture, if necessery
- Expect the radio bill (Rundfunkbeitrag). It is a legally prescribed contribution in Germany. Every household regardless of their actual media use should pay it. Fore more information please visit the official website of Rundfunkbeitrag or ask us for instructions
