Researchers from all over the world come to Dresden to live and work here. Universities, research institutions, researching cultural institutions and companies are spread all over the city. Short distances facilitate the exchange and cooperation. More than 50,000 young people are studying or doing their doctorate here and are constantly contributing new ideas. Anyone who thinks Dresden is only characterised by monuments such as the Zwinger or the Frauenkirche has failed to recognize that Dresden is one of the cities with the highest density of research institutions.
