Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern registration, participation, and obligations related to all events and German courses organized by the DRESDEN-concept Welcome Center at TU Dresden (hereinafter “DDc Welcome Center”). By registering, participants accept the following conditions as binding.

  • Registration must be submitted electronically via the official form on the DDc Welcome Center website.
  • Participants are required to provide accurate personal information (full name, institutional affiliation, and contact details).

The number of places is limited. Participation is granted in the order of registration.

  • Payment of the participation fee must be made precisely following the instructions in the confirmation email.
  • The submission of proof of payment, or of a SEPA direct debit mandate in the case of German courses, constitutes a binding commitment to attend.
  • No participation is permitted without prior payment in full.

4.1. Withdrawal by Participants

  • Cancellation of registration after payment or after submission of a SEPA direct debit mandate (in the case of German courses) is only permitted up to 14 calendar days before the event or course begins, provided that no non-refundable costs have been incurred by the DDc Welcome Center (e.g., booked services or third-party fees).
  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is sufficient).
  • If withdrawal is announced later than 14 days prior to the event/course, the fee will not be refunded.
  • Participants may arrange for a substitute, if allowed, provided the replacement meets all eligibility requirements.

4.2. Cancellation by the Organizer

  • The DDc Welcome Center reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events or courses for just cause (e.g., illness of instructor, insufficient enrollment, or failure of third-party providers).
  • In such cases, paid fees will be refunded in full.
  • No further claims for compensation will be accepted.

4.3 Withdrawal Due to Dissatisfaction with Course Content or Instruction

If a participant wishes to cancel their enrollment in a German course due to dissatisfaction with the course content or instruction, the following applies:

  • The participant must notify the DDc Welcome Center in writing, clearly stating objective reasons for dissatisfaction, within the first two weeks of the course.
  • The DDc Welcome Center will review the request on a case-by-case basis. The participant may be offered an alternative solution, such as: transfer to another course group or level (subject to availability), mediation or evaluation of the concern with the instructor, granting a partial refund or course credit (only if the issue is substantiated and cannot be resolved otherwise).
  • Refunds or cancellations will not be granted for reasons based solely on subjective preferences (e.g., teaching style) if the course structure complies with the published description and academic standards.
  • The DDc Welcome Center reserves the right to determine whether the complaint warrants a participation termination and to what extent a fee refund is justified. This applies even if the participation fee has not yet been debited, for example, if payment is pending via SEPA direct debit mandate. By submitting the mandate, the participant has entered into a legally binding agreement to pay the course fee.

Cancellation fee in case of accepted reasons for withdrawal from the German course: 30 Euro.

Participants must carry ID or passport with residence permit (if applicable) during excursions or on-site courses.

  • Participants are responsible for obtaining adequate personal insurance (health, accident, liability insurance).
  • The DDc Welcome Center and TU Dresden do not provide any insurance coverage for participants.
  • TU Dresden and the DDc Welcome Center accept no liability for damages, losses, or injuries.
  • All participants are expected to behave professionally and respectfully.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate exclusion without refund.

By participating, individuals consent to the use of photographs or video recordings taken during the event for documentation and promotional purposes on the DRESDEN-concept website and the DRESDEN-concept social media channels, unless written objection is submitted in advance.

  • By submitting the registration form, participants confirm that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
  • These terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of performance and jurisdiction is Dresden, Germany, unless otherwise provided by mandatory statutory law.
