National Research Data Infrastructure with key role of TU Dresden
07.07.2021
TUD is taking on a prominent role in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). With the help of the NFDI, data from science and research are to be systematically unlocked, secured and made accessible, as well as internationally networked. Following the recent decision of the Joint Science Conference (GWK), TUD is involved in 10 of the 19 consortia that are now being funded. It is the leading coordinator of NFDI4Earth.
The utmost importance of research data management is evident for DRESDEN-concept. A few years ago, the TUD and the SLUB implemented the Service Center Research Data that gives advice and assists researchers in the handling of research data.
DRESDEN-concept now decided to support this Service Center with an additional position. Starting in fall 2021, the team will be extended by an expert in order to provide DRESDEN-concept member institutions support in their research data management activities.
