15 years DRESDEN-concept Science Cruise

On August 27, DRESDEN-concept celebrated its 15th anniversary with a scientific cruise that offered magnificent views and insights.

Around 300 people attended the anniversary celebration, which took place in perfect summer weather on the “MS August der Starke” of the Saxon Steamship Company. Current and former members of the DRESDEN-concept board gave guests insights into the background of the alliance’s founding, its strong growth from 15 founding members in 2010 to currently 43 member institutions, and an outlook on upcoming projects.

In addition to the great view, the evening offered one thing above all else: the unique opportunity to connect with representatives from research, culture, politics, and business in Dresden across institutional and disciplinary boundaries. The colorful mix of cheerful people on board was wonderful proof of the impressive diversity of the location. The celebrations were accompanied by photos from the association’s past 15 years, a cake and cupcakes in the colors of DRESDEN-concept, and the sounds of saxophone and guitar from the Schooko duo, which made this anniversary science trip an unforgettable highlight.
