Science Cruise 2019
On July 24, 2019, 400 DDc scientists sailed across the Elbe River in great weather. Good music by the jazz trio Michael Gramm and a scientific speed dating event ensured that people were able to talk across institute boundaries and make new (research) contacts.
Hans Müller-Steinhagen, Chairman of the Board of DDc and Rector of TU Dresden dedicated this trip to the late DDc scientist Suzanne Eaton. The trip stands for what she valued: people who are cosmopolitan, innovative, international, curious and above all cooperative.
Through events like the Science Tour, one can feel the DRESDEN Spirit. DRESDEN-concept is one of the reasons for the achieved excellence of the TU Dresden. Amidst applause, Hans Müller-Steinhagen thanked everyone who had contributed to the application and ensured that one lives and works at an excellent science location.
After three hours, the boat “MS August der Starke” docked again in the harbor of Dresden’s Old Town. DDc would like to thank all passengers, the musicians, the photographer Robert Lohse and the Sächsische Dampfschiffahrtgesellschaft for the successful trip!
